Sisters / Embrace (2024)
The diptych ‘Sisters’ / ‘Embrace’, exists as the most recent iteration, of the wider body of work; ‘Unfamilair’. The self-portraits of my sister and I were born out of a desire to further deconstruct and expand initial ideas of otherness, and the new found concern of duality within the relationships I have with my family members, my heritage and myself. We stand as an amalgamation of our shared influences, and blood, with parted stance where we hold our own ground; a sense-of-self maintained among the blending of practice and the blur of sisterhood.
