About Me

I am a visual artist based in London, I graduated from the School of Digital Arts in Manchester earlier this year with a First Class Honours in Photography, the Castlefield Gallery Award and Village Books Best Photobook Award. My practice has evolved to combine my love for analogue photography with fine art and craft processes, resulting in handmade artists books and bespoke light-boxes. I am now working on Medium Format colour film to make portraits that combine my interest in authentic story-telling and the constructed image. As Creative Director for a music video, I utilised my skills in constructing scenes to enhance our performance video, being on-set reinforced desire for collaboration in my art. My ongoing series, Unfamiliar, explores family and the nuances of cultural identity, Sisters, from the recent diptych Sisters/Embrace, was displayed as a duratran print in a handmade light box for my degree show. I intend to continue Unfamiliar in Mexico, making family portraits and using fine art materials/methods to build a multimedia body of work. I aim to advance my practice through collaboration, experimentation, and a deeper understanding of my Mexican heritage and its influence on my practice.
